We’ve used the massing of the home to create a microclimate in the back yard that makes true indoor/outdoor living possible even in our typically marginal shoulder seasons. Deep overhangs protect the interior living areas from overexposure to direct sunlight, and they reach out to create welcoming outdoor spaces adjacent to the home. The central Great Room is the focal point, with vaulted ceilings clad in textured Abodo wood that flows seamlessly out to the exterior surfaces, dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.
